Dots On The Clock

DOTS ON THE CLOCK
The oddest things remind me of you
The first day of fall, the last day of school
I was always a mess when I was with you
You were always soigne always so cool
I could walk you to your car or not whatever you want
I’m approaching this delicately
You look at me reluctantly
What have we got
Dots on the clock
When do the good times start
I should be glad for whatever it was
However brief it was still sweet
Blaming myself for whatever the cause
Am I too much or not enough
I could walk you to your car or not whatever you want
I’m approaching this delicately
You look at me reluctantly
What have we got
Dots on the clock
When does the heartache stop

Open Mic at Swifty's Delmar NY

I had a free Tuesday night, so I impulsively went to a local pub for Open Mic two weeks ago tonight.  I played three songs, "What I've Got To Offer Is The One Thing You Don't Want," "Princesse Tristesse," and "Who's Afraid of Sasha Grey."  There was a massive crowd there, and it seemed everyone was talking through my entire set, I don't know if they listened to any of what I played.  But I got a huge amount of applause at the end.  Maybe they were just happy I stopped.  Anyway, it was something I always wanted to do so, a small personal advancement.  It's important to make a note of these "little" moments, because you have to give yourself credit for achieving goals that look like absolutely nothing on the outside, but feel enormous on the inside.

NEW ALBUM: Our Lady of Perpetual Sin

Join me Friday night, June 21, from 7 to 9pm, when I’ll be performing at Mocha Lisa’s Cafe in Clifton Park NY, on 22 Clifton Country Road. Imagine my dismay after realizing it’s the same night of the Summer Solstice! In order to offset all those bad Summer vibes coming our way (humor me, if you will!), I decided to make it an “I Hate Summer” Solstice party. I’ll be playing some appropriate tunes from my original repertoire, such as “A Cold Dark Autumn,” and “September Shadows,” as well as covers like, “Summer’s Almost Gone,” by the Doors. So, on the first night of Summer this year, put on your Ray Bans, plenty of SPF 100, and stay inside with me!
